Guangzhouboasts of excellent infrastructure of superior airport, sea port and information port like Baiyun International Airport, GuangzhouPort, one of the top ten ports in the world. The modern transportation network consists of railway, highway, expressway and rapid rail transportion. By 2010, a modern transportation network with three ports (airport, sea port and information port), expressway and rapid rail as the major components will have taken shape. Such public utilities as power supply, water supply, gas supply and public transportation will be developed steadily and education, culture, sanitation, sports, information and tourism, further facilitated.

 Completed in 2004, the new GuangzhouBaiyun International Airport, one of the top three airports in Chinadesigned and built in conformity to the hub airport mode, is now the largest, best equipped and most modernized civil air terminal in China. Till now, its annual passenger handling capacity has reached 25 million and the annual cargo one million tons, connecting with 35 cities in five continents by 44 international air routes. It is estimated that after the completion of the second phase, the annual passenger transportation capacity will be increased to 38 to 40 million and the new routes connecting with over 40 countries and regions in Asia will be launched. The airport will then be served as a comprehensive air hub connecting the inner-land of China with Southeast Asia, Middle East, Europe, America, Australia and Asian Pacific Region at large.

 With an annual cargo handling capacity  of over 300 million tons, GuangzhouPort ranks the 3rd in Chinaand the 5th in the world, serving over 300 destination ports in 80 countries and regions. The construction of its Nansha Terminal has been accelerated to make the terminal become a sea port. As to GuangzhouPort, it will be developed into a modern international port and the biggest central hub for modern logistics in South China .

 The new GuangzhouRailway Station is now under construction. After completion, it will become one of the four largest railway passenger transportation centers in Chinaand the largest terminal in Asia in terms of its sheet space. Over the recent years, the speed to build highway network connecting with Pearl River Delta has been accelerated and the road network has been formed. By 2005, the total length of road in Guangzhouhad reached 5076 km. Great importance has also been attached to the construction of metro lines with 7 lines under construction. By the end of 2006, the length of metro lines for operation had arrived at 116 km, surpassing Beijing for the first time and close to Shanghai. By the year of 2010, as many as 9 metro lines will be completed, covering all districts in the city and the major cities around the Pearl River Delta with the total length stretching to 255 km.

 Ranking the first in Asia and the second in the world, Pazhou International Convention and Exhibition Center covers a floor area of 700, 000 sq.m. and a site area of 920,000 sq.m., The Chinese Export Commodities Fair (Canton Fair), also well-known as the No.1 Fair in China, is held biannually here, attracting millions of businessmen all over the world. Since the 101stsession held in April, 2007, it has been renamed as China Import and Export Fair.

 The development of the city’s informalization is among the fastest in China. The city boasts of one of the three major communication hubs, Internet exchange centers and Internet accesses in China. In recent years, with the purpose of building “digital Guangzhou” and international “information port”, the infrastructure of city informatization has been actively promoted. E-government, e-commerce, social informatization and information industry have experienced new advancement. The comprehensive index of Guangzhou’s informatization takes the lead in the country with its level very close to metropolitan city in developed countries.

 Guangzhouis the post service hub in China, with its services covering over 190 countries and regions worldwide. The express mail, fast mail ,  postal bank and international exchange services are available. Either the turnover or the revenue topped the capital cities in China.
